Accessibility & Disability Statement

Last Updated: February 2026

Our Commitment

The Life Counseling is committed to ensuring that our services, facilities, and website are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to mental health care and are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all clients, regardless of ability.

Physical Accessibility

Our office is committed to providing a physically accessible environment. We strive to ensure that our facility meets or exceeds the accessibility requirements set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns about accessing our physical location, please contact us prior to your appointment so that we can make every reasonable effort to accommodate you.

Website Accessibility

We are committed to making our website accessible to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. We continually work to improve the accessibility of our website and aim to meet Level AA compliance standards. Our ongoing efforts include ensuring that website content is compatible with screen readers and assistive technologies, providing alternative text for images, maintaining sufficient color contrast for readability, ensuring that all website functions are accessible via keyboard navigation, and providing captions or transcripts for any audio or video content where applicable.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process and are committed to continued improvement. If you encounter any barriers while using our website, please let us know so we can address them promptly.

Reasonable Accommodations

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to our services. Accommodations we can provide or arrange may include the following:

Scheduling accommodations for clients who require longer appointment times or more flexible scheduling due to a disability. Alternative communication formats for clients who have difficulty with standard written or verbal communication. Telehealth services for clients who are unable to access our physical location due to a disability or health condition. Referrals to specialized providers if a client's needs fall outside the scope of our practice.

If you require an accommodation that is not listed here, please reach out to us. We will work with you on an individual basis to identify and implement reasonable accommodations that meet your needs.

Telehealth Accessibility

We offer telehealth services as an alternative to in-person appointments. Telehealth can be an important accessibility option for clients with mobility limitations, chronic illness, or other disabilities that make travel to our office difficult. Our telehealth platform is selected with accessibility in mind. If you experience any difficulty accessing telehealth services due to a disability or technology barrier, please contact us so we can explore alternative options.

Non-Discrimination

The Life Counseling does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the provision of services. We are committed to treating all clients with dignity and respect and to providing equitable access to mental health care. Our practice complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and all applicable South Dakota state laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability.

Communication Accessibility

We are committed to communicating effectively with all clients. If you require a specific communication format or assistance due to a sensory, cognitive, or communication-related disability, please let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. While we do not have in-house sign language interpretation services, we can work with you to arrange interpreter services or alternative communication supports as needed.

Feedback and Concerns

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our services and website. If you have experienced a barrier to accessing our services, have a suggestion for how we can improve accessibility, or would like to request an accommodation, please contact us at:

Ongoing Commitment

We recognize that creating a fully accessible practice is an ongoing process that requires continuous attention and improvement. We are committed to regularly reviewing our policies, facilities, and digital content to identify and address accessibility barriers. If you have ideas for how we can better serve individuals with disabilities, we welcome your input.
